MAY 2010 : AUSTIN PPA'S ANNUAL PRINT COMPETITION


On May 16th, Austin PPA hosted our annual Print Competition in Lakeway, Texas. Our members were treated to a wonderful spread by the catering company, An Affair To Remember, located in Austin. Our panel judges for the event were PPA Master Photographers; Elizabeth Homan, Ross Benton and Cary Garrison. A big thank you goes out to our judges for giving up their Sunday to help our members learn, grow and get ready for print competition in Kerrville this Summer.



The day's winners were: Maria Bernal (Highest Print Case), Jack Puryear (2nd Highest Print Case) and Dianna Lynn Walker (3rd Highest Print Case). Maria Bernal also won Best of Show, 1st place Wedding, 1st place Portrait, 2nd place Portrait and 3rd place Illustrative, with one of her prints winning a Judge's Choice ribbon. Dianna Walker also received a 1st place in the Illustrative category as well as a Judge's Choice ribbon. Nathan Johns was awarded 2nd place for his Illustrative Portrait which also received a Judge's Choice ribbon. Wayne Solum won 3rd place for his entry into the Portrait category.
